OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Assist the AEA Stage Management team and coordinate the running and storage of properties during rehearsals and performances of each assigned production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend all production meetings, rehearsals, and performances for assigned productions.
- Assist in the creation of production paperwork including contact sheets and rehearsal schedules.
- Assist in the creation of the prompt book for each production.
- Generate all appropriate props paperwork, such as preset lists and running documents.
- Set up and strike necessary props and scenic elements during rehearsals.
- Take detailed notes of any issues with the props and notify the Stage Management team and Props Designer.
- Supervise and maintain proper storage and cleanliness of all props and scenery during and after every rehearsal and performance.
- Supervise, focus, and direct stage management interns & volunteers when needed.
- Assist in the creation of scene shift sheets and running documents.
- During performances, act as a lead and supervise the crew of volunteers and interns as directed.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient running of prop shifts and verify that shifts have been completed safely and correctly.
- Ensure all props are returned to the appropriate place or person at changeovers and strikes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous professional backstage experience in theatre required.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Neat and legible handwriting.
- Ability to read music and a general understanding of Actors’ Equity Association rules preferred.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, efficiency, multi-tasking, and ability to prioritize and self-motivate.
- Possess a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to take direction and see a task out to completion.
- Ability to work both independently and as a positive team member.
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative attitude.
- Ability to give clear directions, encourage questions, and answer them with patience and clarity when working with interns and/or volunteers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to hear verbal notes and record them on paper.
- Frequently required to reach and bend.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to the height of 3 to 4 feet.
- Ability to work and move in dimly lit areas.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, see, and hear.
