Camp Music Circus Teaching Assistant

Term of Employment: Hourly. The teaching assistant position includes day hours and one weekend day. 

Department: Education and Community Engagement

Schedule:

  • Teacher Training and Load-in: Sunday, July 13th     
  • Camp: July 14th-25th, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4pm 

Salary: $16.50 per hour

Reports To: Director of Education and Community Engagement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist staff in providing a safe, fun and positive environment for Camp Music Circus 
  • Supervise participants throughout the day, including during breaks 
  • Assist teaching artists during classes and rehearsals and other duties as assigned 
  • Facilitate theatre games and group activities 
  • Actively participate in class activities to encourage camper participation 
  • Assist backstage during the Camp Music Circus production 

Qualifications:

  • Experience and enjoyment working with children ages 9-12 
  • A knowledge of theatre games and performance techniques 
  • Training/experience in acting, voice and/or dance 
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative attitude 
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure 
  • Ability to both take and give direction  
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required 
  • Must be 18+ to apply
