Established in 1989 by the non-profit California Musical Theatre as a "winter season" partner for Sacramento’s venerable and beloved Music Circus, BROADWAY SACRAMENTO has become the region’s largest live performing arts event with over 200,000 tickets sold every year. It has added new energy to Downtown Sacramento and has been a major factor in the city’s re-emergence as a regional hub for culture and nightlife. The Broadway series regularly draws theatre-lovers from the Oregon border to western Nevada and throughout the Central Valley.
