In order to help our patrons decide which productions are most appropriate for them and their children, we offer these viewing recommendations.  Out of respect for other audience members, children under 4, including babes in arms, will not be admitted to the theatre. Younger children may not have the attention span for most of our productions. Of course, parents know best what is suitable for their children, but please use this guide to decide which productions to share with your family.

Our 2010 Guide:

	"Spamalot" is recommended for theatregoers 14 and over. This witty musical parody is an adaptation of "Monty Python and the Holy grail." It mocks Arthurian legend, Broadway cliches and mostly itself. The show contains comic violence and crude humor, including several instances of mild to moderate profanity.
	"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is recommended for theatregoers 4 and over. Fast-paced and colorful, this musical is perfect for introducing children to musical theatre, while still entertaining adults. The imaginative interpretation of the Old Testament's Joseph and his adventures in Egypt also has a time-tested message about having faith and trusting one's gifts.  This production is half-price for children 4 to 11.  Some young children may not have the attention span for this full length production.
	"Oklahoma!" is recommended for theatregoers 8 and over.  This classic story about the pioneers on the American prairie includes some light violence as ranchers and farmers feud. The story also contains very mild adult themes, but can be considered suitable for most children. The musical will be enjyed by young people who have the attention span fora full-length production.
	"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is recommended for theatregoers 14 and over.  Two immoral (but ultimately harmless) con men - one refined and the other crass - compete over who can be the biggest swindler on the Riviera. Funny and irreverent, the musical contains some mature language and adult situations.
	"Funny Girl" is recommended for theatregoers 10 and over.  This biography of Ziegfeld star Fanny Brice and her relationship with gambler Nick Arnstein is classic musical theatre fare, filled with spectacular songs and lavish costumes. The relationship of the key characters is more complex than many musical theatre romances and some children may not be able to relate to the story.
	"The Marvelous Wonderettes" is recommended for theatregoers 8 and over.  This musical is set at a 1950s prom and then at a class reunion 10 years later, and would be appropriate for all audiences. Numerous pop songs from the '50s and '60s are performed as the story of the crushes and friendships are played out on stage.
	"42nd Street" is recommended for theatregoers 8 and over.  In this prototypical "backstage musical" a young Midwestern chorus girl gets her shot at the big time when a Broadway star breaks her leg.  Lots of energetic dancing and colorful costumes.  Generally G-rated with language no harsher than an occassional "damn." The musical will be enjoyed by young people who have the attention psan for a full-length production.
